Exciting updates for the Oasys Suite

The Oasys LS-DYNA team is pleased to announce the release of the Oasys Suite 18.1

Although primarily a bug fix release, this latest version has several new enhancements:

PRIMER 18.1 Pedestrian Protection

PRIMER 18.1 is released with several new enhancements to the pedestrian protection setup tools. This includes the addition of support for the C-NCAP 2021 and Euro NCAP v9.0 protocols. Both protocols include a cyclist zone in addition to the child and adult head zones.

An orientation angle has also been added for child head impact points on/in front of the bonnet leading edge, to better support child head impact regulations introduced in the C-NCAP 2018 and Euro NCAP v8.0 protocols.

Various user interface improvements have been made to accommodate the new protocol options and improve workflow.

REPORTER 18.1 Automotive Templates

REPORTER 18.1 is released with several new automotive library templates, covering MPDB Compatibility and Occupant assessments, and pedestrian Head and Leg impact, for C-NCAP, Euro NCAP and GTR protocols.

To complement the existing MPDB Compatibility assessment templates, we have also released MPDB Occupant assessment templates for C-NCAP and Euro NCAP protocols, which include THOR occupant processing for the first time.

All-new C-NCAP Head and Leg impact templates support Cyclist impact assessment and the aPLI impactor respectively. The Euro NCAP Head and Leg impact templates have also been updated to support these features.

The new GTR Leg impact template complements the existing GTR Head Impact template, and handles impact points with arbitrary spacing.
